Rain Watching

Looking East toward Navarre Beach After getting in a nice morning ride on Monday, we loaded up the car and headed East to Pensacola Beach. We're staying in a big condo tower on a strip of barrier island that's probably about as wide as the building is tall. It's a nice view and quite nice, although I'm always just a bit uncomfortable hanging with all of the "beautiful people" at places like this. They don't have an exercise room, they have a "Lifestyle Center," which is code for "everything costs extra." Anyway, being the beginning of the off-season, it is very quiet. Unfortunately it has been raining, sometimes in Biblical proportions, since last night, and it is not looking like I will be able to ride without getting soaked until tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, I'm sitting on the 12th floor without wireless access (good thing I brought an ethernet cable) watching it rain.

I don't know how much longer I can take this kind of lifestyle where everything seems to revolve around which restaurant I'll be eating at next. I'm working on figuring out a way to make it to the team time trial on Saturday morning because although I thought we were coming back on Friday, it now looks like we'll be here for the weekend. I could always take the car and drive in for the TT and then back to Florida. We'll see.
